Susan E. Popp, 73, of Piqua, died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Ohio State University James Hospital. She was born December 28, 1951 in Piqua to the late Joseph “Liney” and Jean L. (Levering) Vagedes. She married Terry R. Popp July 1, 1972 in the St. Mary Catholic Church; and he survives.
Other survivors include a son, Kevin (Alicia) Popp of Piqua; a daughter, Kelly (Chad) Heffelfinger of Piqua; eight grandchildren, Miley, Lilian, Madison, Paige, Hannah, Kaylee, Oliver, Ian; two great grandchildren, Jasiah, Willow; two brothers, Alan Vagedes of Piqua, Brent (Julie) Vagedes of Piqua; and a sister, Jeanine (Rick) Baker of Troy. She was preceded in death by a great grandson, Theo Tobias Thompson.
Mrs. Popp was a 1970 graduate of Piqua Central High School. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. She worked for many years as a cashier for Ulbrich’s IGA before dedicating herself to caring for her family and her home. She was the past secretary for the Piqua Amateur Radio Club. She enjoyed camping, working puzzles especially Sudoku, frequenting various casinos as well as collecting cookbooks. She would often put her collection to good use and show off her incredible cooking skills. Additionally, she loved to entertain, specifically looking forward to her annual Memorial Day celebration. She was the Vice President of Terry’s Appliance Service for the past 40 years, maintaining various aspects of the business. She was a dedicated grandmother who loved her grandchildren more than anything. She will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Eric Bowman as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
