Jean R. Cline, 87, of Piqua, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 10, 2025 in the comfort of her home. She was born September 1, 1937 in Columbus to the late David and Eleanor (Moser) Caton. She married Bill “Doc” Cline September 6, 1958 in Columbus, a union that would span nearly 65 years. Doc preceded her in death May 4, 2023.

Jean is survived by three children, Kelli (Brian) Hildebrand of Piqua, Kari (Steve) Fair of Troy, and Brad (Dawn) Cline of Greenville, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Sydney, Trenton, Ashton, Colton, and Holden; her sister, June Moore of Newark; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Dave Caton.

Jean was a graduate of West High in Columbus, Class of 1955. Jean and her whole family are lifelong fans of The Ohio State University. She worked in various jobs over the years, her favorite was originally working in the OSU Student Union where she would figure out a way to follow Woody Hayes around- but her favorite job was gaining the title of “Stay at Home Mom” once the kids were born. She never missed any of the children’s or grandchildren’s sports or events, she was a “Second Mom” for many of the children that frequented the house and was even a late night therapist for those friends once the nights got longer. Jean enjoyed antiquing and even ran an antique business in Springfield for a time. She previously volunteered for worthy local causes like the addition of the pool to the Piqua YMCA, and the new Piqua High School projects. Jean loved to travel and went to countless destinations, but the overseas trips were the most unforgettable. She also enjoyed visiting the Outer Banks and Millsite Lake in New York with family and friends over the years. Jean was an avid card player, she was very competitive but also enjoyed passing her vast card game knowledge onto her family and friends.

A service to honor Jean’s life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home.
