Barbara J. Overholser, 81, of Piqua, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Piqua Manor Nursing Home. She was born February 8, 1944 in Greenville to the late Chalmer and Margaret (Teaford) Lanich. She married Jerry Overholser September 10, 1966 at the Church of the Brethren in Bradford, and he survives.
Barbara is also survived by two children, Jody (Hans Denney) Overholser and Mary Overholser, all of Piqua; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two siblings, Roger Lanich and Jackie (John) Pearce.
Barb was a graduate of Piqua Central High School, Class of 1962. Years ago she had worked for Atlas and Allen-A in the textile industry, but once her children were born she changed to her favorite career as a Mother and homemaker. Barb was quite skilled in sewing, knitting, and crochet, and what started as a hobby slowly turned into a small side business helping family and friends by mending and altering their clothing. She was able to fulfill custom sewing orders, for bridal gowns and bridesmaids, and even Halloween costumes. Barb loved her family and cherished spending time with them. She will surely be missed.
