The City of Piqua hosted a public meeting on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the Fort Piqua Plaza Banquet Center (4th Floor, 308 N. Main St., Piqua) to provide updates on the Hydraulic Canal and Dam Safety Project.
City staff and representatives from Stantec Consulting Services presented findings from the past year’s evaluation work on the Swift Run Lake, Echo Lake, and Franz Pond dams, as well as the connecting hydraulic canal system.
This public engagement effort supports the City’s commitment to shaping a long-term vision for the future of Piqua’s water system—balancing regulatory compliance, environmental considerations, community needs, and financial viability in accordance with Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Dam Safety regulations.
