PIQUA — Thunderstorms are kicking off the week in Miami County, with more chances of rain expected through Thursday.

Residents should expect scattered showers and storms throughout the day on Monday, especially before 5 p.m. While rainfall totals are expected to remain light — less than a tenth of an inch — isolated storms could bring heavier downpours. The high will reach around 84 degrees under partly sunny skies, with a gentle breeze out of the west.

Tonight, clouds will linger with a 30% chance of rain before 8 p.m. Temperatures will dip to around 67 degrees as winds calm overnight.

Tuesday looks to offer a brief break from the rain, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 86. The calm weather is expected to continue into the night, with partly cloudy conditions and similar overnight lows.

Rain chances return Wednesday, with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon. Highs will top out near 83 degrees, and light southerly winds will develop throughout the day. Showers may continue into the evening but are expected to be brief and isolated.

On Thursday, scattered showers are possible in the morning and afternoon, with thunderstorms developing later in the day. The high will once again climb into the mid-80s under partly sunny skies.
