
PIQUA — Strong southerly winds will move into the area today ahead of a cold front, bringing gusts up to 35 mph. Temperatures will climb to around 80 degrees with rising humidity, setting the stage for potential severe weather in and around Piqua.
The area is under an Enhanced Risk (level 3 out of 5) for severe storms, with the greatest threat expected later this afternoon into the evening. Damaging winds are the primary concern, but hail and even an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms may occur at any time during the day, so residents are urged to stay weather-aware.
Conditions are expected to calm overnight, with a mostly dry day on tap for Wednesday. A brief shower could pop up late in the afternoon, but widespread rain is not expected.
