PIQUA – The City of Piqua is in the middle of a large-scale cart exchange as Rumpke Waste & Recycling takes over trash and recycling collection services. Crews are working hard to deliver new Rumpke carts and remove the old City-branded ones, but with tens of thousands of carts to swap, some delays are expected.

Residents are asked to continue using their City-branded carts until the new Rumpke carts arrive. Once delivered, residents should begin using the Rumpke carts immediately.

If your carts haven’t yet been swapped and you’re concerned, you can call Rumpke directly at 1-800-828-8171. For those wanting a different cart size, contact the City of Piqua’s Utility Business Office at 937-778-2000. Please allow up to two weeks for any size change to take place.

In a customer-friendly move, the City is also delaying the start of the new 2025 sanitation rates—approved by the Piqua City Commission—until the billing cycle calculated on June 6, giving residents time to adjust their cart choices.
