PIQUA — Michael Mayor, 34, has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years after pleading guilty to one count of murder in the death of 1-year-old Vivian Gardner.
The charges stem from a December 5, 2024 incident, when Piqua police and EMS responded to a report of an unresponsive child who was still breathing. Despite emergency efforts, the toddler was later pronounced dead.
Mayor entered a guilty plea as part of an agreement to avoid trial. His sentencing brings a legal conclusion to a case that deeply impacted the local community.
