PIQUA, Ohio — In response to the growing success of the Lock 9 Park Summer Concert Series and other downtown events, the City of Piqua has announced temporary street closures to ensure public safety and improve traffic flow throughout the remainder of the 2025 summer and fall season.

The closures will affect key downtown routes during event times and are designed to protect pedestrians and ease congestion in high-traffic areas.

Streets affected include:

  • East Water Street from North Main Street to Spring Street
  • Spring Street from East Water Street to East High Street
  • Spring Street southbound from East Ash Street to East High Street

Access to downtown businesses and parking lots will remain open during the closures. Specifically, East Water Street will stay open to the public parking lot at the corner of North Main and East Water.

Closure times are scheduled as follows:

  • Friday, August 1 (5–11 p.m.): Feudin’ Hillbillys concert
  • Friday, August 8 (5–11 p.m.): Alex Miller concert
  • Friday, August 15 (5–11 p.m.): 5 Band concert
  • Friday, August 22 (5–11 p.m.): ReFlektion concert
  • Saturday, August 23 (5–11 p.m.): Pink Droyd concert
  • Friday, September 5 (5–11 p.m.): Zack Attack concert
  • Friday, September 12 (5–11 p.m.): Phil Dirt & The Dozers concert
  • Saturday, September 13 (5–11 p.m.): The Ultimate Doors with Kashmir concert
  • Saturday, September 20 (11 a.m.–11:59 p.m.): Rock Piqua Food Truck + Music Festival
  • Saturday, November 1 (Time TBD): Ohio State University football game watch party

Detours for U.S. Route 36 will direct drivers via West Ash Street to North College Street for local traffic and Garnsey Street to Cromes Drive for truck traffic approaching from northbound County Road 25A. Motorists are advised to follow posted no-parking signs along detour routes to help maintain visibility and intersection safety.
