Covington, OH — A Covington man was arrested Tuesday following a narcotics raid that concluded a lengthy investigation into methamphetamine trafficking in the area.

On April 30, investigators with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office, along with deputies and Covington Police officers, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of South Ludlow Street. The operation was the result of a multi-month investigation targeting illegal drug activity.

During the search, officers recovered methamphetamine, prescription medications classified as controlled substances, and various materials used for packaging and distributing narcotics.

Daniel L. Sampson, 40, of Covington, was arrested at the scene without incident. He was booked into the Miami County Jail and charged with felony drug trafficking. Authorities say additional charges may follow, pending review by the Miami County Prosecutor’s Office.

Sheriff Dave Duchak released the details of the operation on May 1, emphasizing continued efforts to combat drug distribution in Miami County.
