PIQUA — The City of Piqua is inviting neighborhoods across the community to take part in this year’s National Night Out, happening Tuesday, August 5, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Hosted nationally by the National Association of Town Watch and locally by the Piqua Police Department, National Night Out is all about building strong relationships between neighbors and law enforcement while promoting community safety and connection.
One of the best ways to join the celebration is by hosting a neighborhood block party. These gatherings are a great chance to meet the people who live around you, share food and fun, and strengthen the ties that help keep neighborhoods safe.
“I encourage all neighborhoods to host a block party—it’s a fun way to get to know your neighbors and build a safer, more connected community,” said Piqua Police Officer Chris Walters.
Across the country, residents will be turning on their porch lights and spending the evening outside, enjoying cookouts, games, visits from first responders, safety demonstrations, and more.
Anyone interested in organizing a block party in Piqua can reach out to Officer Walters at 937-778-2027, ext. 3027, to get started.
