PIQUA — Lace up your skates and get ready to celebrate — 36 Skate Club is turning 60!

Owners Mike and Tina Phillabaum are inviting the community to join them tonight, Sunday, April 27, for a special anniversary skate from 6 to 9 p.m. at the rink, located at 4845 US Route 36 in Piqua. There will even be 60th anniversary t-shirts available for sale to mark the occasion.

The 36 Skate Club has been a family tradition since 1965, when founders Jim Phillabaum and Francy Butler, both professional figure skaters, first opened the doors. Their passion for skating didn’t stop there — they passed it on to their children, Jeff, Debbie, and Mike, with Jeff and Debbie also becoming accomplished skaters.

Today, Mike and his wife Tina are proud to keep the tradition alive, offering a place where generations of families have come to skate, celebrate birthdays, and create lasting memories.

Whether you’re a longtime regular or it’s your first time visiting, tonight’s celebration promises plenty of fun, laughter, and memories in the making.
