PIQUA, OH — The City of Piqua is offering residents a chance to securely get rid of unwanted personal documents during its upcoming Community Shredding Day, set for Saturday, April 19, 2025. The drive-thru event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Pitsenbarger Sports Complex.
This free service allows residents to safely dispose of sensitive paperwork without leaving their vehicles. City staff will handle unloading materials directly from each car. To keep things moving efficiently, participants are asked to bring no more than five boxes of documents.
Only personal paper documents will be accepted—items such as bank statements, pay stubs, medical records, and credit reports. Items like CDs, DVDs, hard drives, cardboard, plastic bags, and hanging file folders are not allowed.
The shredding event is open to individual residents only and is not intended for business use. It’s a simple way to clear out old files and safeguard personal information.
Additional details are available through the City of Piqua’s website or by contacting city offices.
